Why do I need to create a healthy home?
There are many reasons why you should create a healthy home or office environment. For one, we spend 90% of our time indoors according to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Secondly, the air inside of our homes and offices is more polluted than the outside air - 3-70 times more according to the EPA as well. Your body is constantly being bombarded with pollutants through food, water and environmental exposures. If your home is not a safe haven where your body can rest and recuperate then what do you suspect happens when it becomes exposed to more pollutants? There are so many diseases on the rise and new studies are showing links to environmental exposures. Be proactive with your health and create a healthy NEST today!

Healthy Home Tip:
Water! We can't live without it, but what implications does bottled water have on our society today? Did you know that 1.5 billion barrels of oil are consumed each year to produce the plastic for water bottles? This is enough to fuel 100,000 cars! Not only that, a water bottle in a landfill can take over 1,000 years to biodegrade! We do need to be aware of what we are drinking because the local average local water authority only test for about 100 chemicals out of the potential 1,000's of chemicals that could be in the water supply. That's why a home filtration system is what Green Nest recommends for you & your family!

Creating Your
Green Nest Column:

Q: Dear Lisa,

I noticed the different types of filtration methods you have on your website for drinking water. My question is, do I really need a filter for my drinking water? I drink bottled water and feel this is more convenient and better for me than tap water.
Kyle M.

A: Dear Kyle,

I'm so glad you asked! Many people are surprised to find out that 40% of bottled water is actually just TAP water! This is due to the fact the the U.S. EPA sets more stringent quality standards on tap water than the FDA does for bottled beverages. It is estimated that the world spends 100 Billion annually on bottled water! You can save yourself a lot of money and be getting better quality water by installing a sink filtration method in your home!
